Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract

Rancho Mirage, CA | Days 3x12 (07:00–19:00) | 13-Week Contract

This active Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit cares for childbearing women and well newborns across the full spectrum of obstetric acuity. The unit includes an OB Emergency Department within the floor, providing integrated emergent obstetric evaluation and care.

Shift & Scheduling

• Three 12-hour day shifts; self-scheduling
• One on-call shift per 4-week schedule cycle (60-minute callback requirement)
• Weekend coverage required; travelers work every other holiday
• No approved time off within the first two weeks of assignment

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

• Childbearing women, well newborns, neonates, infants, and adolescents
• Full LDRP scope: vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum hemorrhage management, magnesium sulfate therapy, pregnancy-induced hypertension, epidural and general anesthesia support, neonatal resuscitation, couplet care, and phototherapy
• Intensivist, hospitalist, and anesthesiologist available in-house 24/7

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years L&D experience; 4 years preferred
• Prior travel experience required — no first-time travelers
• Couplet Care and Postpartum experience required
• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility
• One professional reference required

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NRP
• AWHONN Advanced (or AWHONN Intermediate with pathway to Advanced)

• Scrub color: wine
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Floating within skill set expected
• Pre-assignment modules required (approximately 10 hours)
