Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Location: Elizabethtown, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 x 12-hour shifts

Schedule: Weekend and holiday rotation

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 9, 2026

About the Role

Join the facility's Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, where you'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll work in a dynamic environment managing diverse patient populations and acuities, from post-operative recovery to management of chronic and acute diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, and metabolic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and vital sign assessment, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative patient care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and team members
• Provide patient and family education on conditions, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Typically manage 4–6 patients per shift

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ year of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry and EKG interpretation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
