Adult Med/Surg RN — Asheville, NC

Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This adult medical-surgical unit provides care for a broad range of general medicine patients requiring IV therapy, enteral nutrition (tube feeds and PEG feedings), IV antibiotics, and telemetry monitoring. The team is collaborative and fast-paced, with strong charge RN and ancillary support on every shift.

Shift & Schedule

• Every other weekend required (minimum 6 weekend shifts per pay period)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Contract duration: 13 weeks | Anticipated start: October 26, 2026

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Telemetry rhythm interpretation skills
• Strong critical thinking, time management, and patient assessment abilities
• Ability to recognize acuity changes and escalate appropriately

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification

Float Requirements

• May float to other med/surg units or the ED holding area on an occasional basis

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs

Unit Expectations

• Attend shift huddle at 06:50 (days) or 18:50 (nights)
• Clock in no earlier than 06:38 or 18:38 per shift
• Clock out and back in for all meal breaks
• Team-oriented mindset; willingness to support CNAs and fellow nurses is essential
