Labor & Delivery RN – 26-Week Travel Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 26-week travel assignment. You'll work day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) in a community hospital obstetrics unit, providing comprehensive care to pregnant patients, laboring mothers, and postpartum families.
Schedule & Expectations
- Shift: Three 12-hour days per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Call: May be required based on patient census
- Contract Duration: 26 weeks
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- Holiday Commitment: Must work 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Float: Possible float to other units; may be assigned to nearby sister facilities as needed
Requirements
- California state RN license (compact license acceptable; pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of L&D or obstetrical nursing experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced
- Clinical Skills: Sterile vaginal exams (required hard stop), fetal monitoring, labor support, neonatal resuscitation, postpartum hemorrhage management, patient , and couplet care
Unit Details
- Patient Population: Laboring patients, high-risk deliveries, postpartum and newborn care
- Clinical Scope: Vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, epidural support, fetal heart rate monitoring, neonatal assessment, breastfeeding support
- Interdisciplinary Support: Respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response
- Scrub Color: Royal blue
- Orientation: 40 hours
