Labor & Delivery / Postpartum RN — Travel Contract

Eureka, CA | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 26-Week Contract

This Labor & Delivery and Postpartum unit cares for a high-risk OB population with a culturally diverse patient base. RNs are expected to provide full-scope perinatal care, including circulating for cesarean sections, managing antepartum and postpartum patients, and supporting newborn care.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (shift times 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Maximum 7 days of pre-approved time off; all RTO must be submitted at time of offer

Clinical Scope

• High-risk antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and couplet care
• Circulating for cesarean sections and recovering C-section patients
• Fetal monitoring (external and internal), Magnesium Sulfate therapy, oxytocin management, postpartum hemorrhage response
• Newborn assessment, breastfeeding/lactation support, phototherapy, and hypoglycemia management
• of obstetrical patients and assistance with vaginal and high-risk deliveries

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of L&D/Postpartum experience
• Active California RN license required at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• Float requirement: travelers float first within scope, including to nearby sister facilities
• Two professional references covering the past 3 years required prior to start
