Pediatric Operating Room Nurse

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Operating Room Nurse for its pediatric surgical service. You'll work in a fast-paced OR environment managing 15–28 cases per day across six operating rooms and one procedural space.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating shifts: 2 × 8-hour and 2 × 12-hour shifts per week
• Call requirement: 1 call shift per week with 30-minute response time
• 1–2 weekend calls; rotating holiday coverage
• Mandatory standby availability
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract

Clinical Scope

Common procedures include tonsillectomies, hypospadias repairs, craniotomies, cardiac procedures, orthopedic surgeries, and rectus muscle repairs. Scrubbing is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Float to pediatric inpatient units (5N/1W) and children's services as needed
• Midnight shift RN serves as Charge RN
• Participate in rotating holiday and weekend coverage

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• Current BLS Certification
• Orientation: 2 days with checklist completion
• Scrubs provided by the facility
