PCU / Stepdown

MedSurg Stepdown & Floor RN — Night Shift | Morgantown, WV

This 13-week travel contract places you on a combined MedSurg Stepdown and Floor unit, caring for a diverse acute-care patient population. The unit operates with both stepdown-level and floor-level acuity, and RNs must be comfortable managing patients across both.

Shift Details

• 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekends and holidays required
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Up to 2 cancellations permitted per 13-week contract

Clinical Scope

• Stepdown and general MedSurg patient population with varied diagnoses
• RNs required to titrate drips
• Ventilated patients present on the unit (respiratory therapy in-house 24/7)
• Telemetry monitored unit; tele techs post strips, but RNs must independently read and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Charge nurse and transport RN support available during day shift hours
• 2–5 clinical aides typically on unit per shift

Requirements

• Active RN license (West Virginia or compact)
• BLS required; ACLS recommended
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• COVID vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• BSN not required

Scheduling & Float

• Float to other units possible
• Weekend and holiday rotation expected
