Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | San Leandro, CA

Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12-hour shifts

Contract Duration: 17 weeks (November 2 – February 27)

Start Date: November 2, 2026

This is a winter-coverage contract in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department serving a broad patient population including adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics. The ED manages a high-volume caseload and provides full assessment, treatment, stabilization, and transfer coordination for patients who require services beyond on-site capabilities.

Clinical Skills Required:

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Central line care and management
• Continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
• Ventilated patient care
• and isolation precautions/PPE

Requirements:

• Active California RN license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; prior travel experience required
• BSN preferred
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS; CPI/MAB preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Scheduling Details:

• Night shift; every other weekend
• 2 of 3 major holidays required
• Blackout dates: November 22–30 and December 21–January 4
• Up to 7 pre-approved RTO days available outside blackout periods
• Float within the hospital as needed
• No on-call required
• 16-hour orientation
