Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse to join the obstetric team on the night shift. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to laboring patients and their families during one of life's most significant moments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery, including continuous fetal heart rate monitoring and uterine contraction assessment
- Administer medications for labor induction/augmentation and epidural support per physician orders
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide circulating support during cesarean sections
- Recognize and manage high-risk OB conditions (preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress) with appropriate emergency interventions
- Provide immediate newborn care and resuscitation support
- Educate patients and families on labor progress, pain management, and postpartum expectations
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of labor progression and interventions
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification required
- 1+ years of L&D experience
- Demonstrated competency with fetal monitoring, high-risk obstetrics, and vaginal/cesarean deliveries
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
This is a patient-centered role in a dynamic L&D environment. Night shift experience and comfort managing high-acuity obstetric cases are essential.
