Medical/Surgical Travel Nurse — Nights | Wichita, KS
This 90-week contract (structured in 13-week increments) places you on a private-room medical/surgical/respiratory unit working night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), four 12-hour shifts per week with 48 guaranteed hours.
Unit Overview
The unit is a dedicated medical/surgical/respiratory floor caring for a diverse patient population across varying acuity levels. Private room accommodations support infection control and patient comfort. The clinical scope includes general med/surg care with a respiratory component, requiring nurses comfortable managing a broad range of conditions and disease processes.
Schedule & Expectations
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 4 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend required
- 48 guaranteed hours per week
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active RN license (Nursys verification required)
- License/Certificate Verification
Onboarding Requirements
Candidates must complete competency testing, skills checklist, EKG exam, point-of-care glucose testing validation, background check, employment and education verification, two professional references, and standard health clearances (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Tdap, TB screening, color vision assessment, fit testing, and drug screen).
Ideal Candidate
- Comfortable with medical/surgical and respiratory patient populations
- Proficient with electronic health records (charting experience required; testing required at onboarding)
- Strong EKG interpretation skills
- Available for a long-term commitment starting November 2026
