Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) — Registered Nurse

Utica, NY | Days | 13-Week Contract

This IMCU position offers day shift coverage (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) in a clinically diverse intermediate care setting that manages adult patients (18+) across a broad range of acuities and diagnoses.

Unit Clinical Scope

The unit cares for patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and trauma-related diagnoses, including COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative recovery. Nurses work with specialty equipment including temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, and BiPAP. The unit also supports chronic ventilator patients who are unable to wean; respiratory therapy is available to assist.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed
• Floating to other units is required

Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Active New York RN license (all RN licenses must be verified)
• Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience; travel experience preferred
• Specialty-matched skills checklist required
