PCU / Stepdown

Stroke & Brain Unit — PCU | Kansas City, MO

Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 13-Week Contract | Start: November 2, 2026

This night-shift travel position is on a dedicated Stroke & Brain progressive care unit managing patients with acute neurological and cardiac conditions. The unit operates with tech support on-site and maintains an active, engaged nursing staff.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week; 3–4 weekend shifts per contract period
• 36 hours guaranteed per week

Clinical Scope

• Stroke and neurology patient population with telemetry monitoring
• Administration of cardiac drips
• Basic dysrhythmia interpretation
• Tech support available on the unit

Float Policy

Travelers may be floated to other areas based on demonstrated clinical competency.

Required Certifications

• NIHSS (must have)
• ACLS (must have)
• BLS

Required Experience & Skills

• Stroke experience — required
• Telemetry experience — required
• Cardiac drips and neurology background strongly preferred

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs

This is a 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours per week and a consistent night schedule. Candidates with a strong neuro and telemetry background are encouraged to apply.
