Stepdown RN – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Stepdown RN for a 13-week contract beginning November 13, 2026. You will care for post-acute patients transitioning from intensive care, providing skilled nursing in a structured stepdown environment with potential to float to related units as needed.
Shift & Schedule
- 3x12-hour rotating shifts: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) and Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Rotating day/night schedule; shifts may vary to meet operational needs
- Mandatory coverage every other holiday
- 13-week guaranteed contract
Requirements
- License: Permanent Ohio license or valid compact state license (in hand at time of submission)
- Experience: Minimum 12 months permanent, full-time experience in stepdown nursing
- Certifications: Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (required in hand at submission; no pending certifications accepted)
- Manager reference required: One reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director from work within the past 12 months (co-worker references will not be accepted)
- Background: No open background cases or license hits accepted
Orientation & Assessments
During orientation, you will complete:
- ECG rhythm recognition test
- safeMedicate assessment
- Both require a passing score to continue employment (2 attempts maximum)
- Pre-start competency modules (approximately 6–15 hours)
Additional Compliance
- BCI/FBI background check clearance required within 48 hours of contract signing
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Annual hands-on competency required for renewals
