Emergency Room RN — Salem, VA

Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Contract

This busy Emergency Department in Salem, VA is seeking an experienced travel RN with a strong ED background and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.

The Unit

The ED manages a high-acuity, fast-paced patient volume with a broad clinical scope. Nurses care for patients across a range of emergent presentations, with typical procedures including:

• Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
• Sepsis interventions
• Stroke protocol with tPA administration
• Central line placement
• Psychiatric patient care and stabilization
• Interfacility transfers (EMTALA)

Schedule & Commitment

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Guaranteed hours: 36/week
• Contract duration: 13 weeks (91 weeks listed; confirm with your recruiter)
• Weekend requirement: Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period (Saturday or Sunday for days)
• No on-call required
• No floating

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Department RN experience
• Minimum 2–3 prior travel nursing assignments
• Active RN license
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume emergency settings
• ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale certification
