Emergency Department | Travel RN | Salem, VA

Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Contract | 36 Hours Guaranteed

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced travel RN for a day shift assignment. This is a fast-paced, high-acuity ED environment that requires confident, team-oriented clinicians who thrive under pressure.

Clinical Scope

Nurses in this department manage a broad range of emergent presentations and perform a variety of procedures, including:

• Rapid sequence intubation (RSI)
• Sepsis recognition and intervention
• Stroke protocol with tPA administration
• Central line placement
• Psychiatric patient care and management
• Interfacility transfers (EMTALA compliance)

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of ED/ER experience
• Minimum 2–3 prior travel assignments required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume emergency settings preferred

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Preferred Certifications

• ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale

Schedule & Expectations

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• No on-call required
• Weekend commitment: Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period (Saturday or Sunday for day shift)
• No floating required
