Emergency Department RN — Roanoke, VA
This 13-week travel contract places you in a freestanding emergency department setting in the Roanoke, VA area, providing care across the full spectrum of ED acuity. The unit manages both high- and low-acuity patients in a close-knit team environment where nurses are expected to work both independently and collaboratively.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 07:00–19:00
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period
Clinical Scope
- Care for critically ill and routine emergency patients
- Medication administration and laboratory procedures
- Management of high-acuity presentations requiring rapid assessment and intervention
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
- ENPC preferred
Requirements
- Prior Emergency Department nursing experience is required — candidates without ED background will not be considered
- Demonstrated ability to care for critically ill patients
- Comfortable working independently within a small, collaborative care team
