Emergency Department RN — Salem, VA | 13-Week Contract

This fast-paced Emergency Department in Salem, VA is seeking experienced travel RNs for a 13-week contract. Shifts run 09:00–21:00, with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

The Unit

The ED manages a high-acuity, high-volume patient population across a broad range of emergent presentations. Nurses work alongside a collaborative team of RNs and medics in a well-staffed environment. No floating is required.

Typical Procedures

• Rapid sequence intubation (RSI)
• Sepsis interventions
• Stroke protocol with tPA administration
• Central line placement
• Psychiatric patient care
• Interfacility transfers (EMTALA)

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of emergency department experience
• Minimum 2–3 completed travel assignments
• Prior experience in high-acuity, high-volume ED settings preferred
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and professional demeanor

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Preferred Certifications

• ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale

Schedule & Logistics

• Shift: 09:00–21:00
• Four weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday for days) per four-week scheduling period
• No on-call requirements
• Scrubs: Navy blue or white
• No floating
