Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Salem, VA

Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 13-Week Contract | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week

This fast-paced Emergency Department in Salem, VA is seeking an experienced travel RN with a strong ER background and at least 2–3 prior travel assignments completed.

The Unit

The ED manages a high-acuity, high-volume patient population across a wide range of emergency presentations, including sepsis, stroke, and behavioral health cases. Nurses work alongside medics in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. No float requirements.

Typical Procedures

• Rapid sequence intubation (RSI)
• Sepsis interventions
• Stroke protocol with tPA administration
• Central line placement and care
• Psychiatric patient management
• Interfacility transfers (EMTALA)

Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period (Friday or Saturday nights)
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of ER experience
• 2–3 completed travel assignments required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume emergency settings preferred

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Preferred Certifications

• ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale

Dress Code: Navy blue or white scrubs
