Labor & Delivery Nurse — Night Shift | Salem, Virginia

This is a 13-week travel contract in a full-service Maternity Care Center, with night shift hours of 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Two positions are available, with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

Unit Overview

The unit encompasses Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum/GYN, OR suites, and a wellborn nursery. The clinical team includes L&D nurses, couplet nurses, a birth response nurse, and a charge nurse/clinical coordinator on nights.

Clinical Scope

• Labor & Delivery management, including active labor, Pitocin, and epidural care
• Cesarean sections (circulator, first assist, and scrub experience a plus)
• OBED and inductions
• Post-partum and newborn care
• Midwife support

Floating

Float is within the unit only — no cross-department floating required.

Schedule & Call

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (nights: Friday & Saturday)
• No on-call requirement for travel staff; extra shift opportunities may be available

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN

Required Experience

• Prior OB experience is required
• Cesarean section circulator, first assist, or scrub experience is preferred

Dress Code

Scrubs are provided by the facility.
