About the Role

The facility's Cardiac and Vascular Operating Room (CVOR) performs a wide range of open heart, vascular, and thoracic procedures. You'll work as a scrub technician in a 6-OR suite alongside experienced surgeons and perfusionists, handling complex cases with precision and confidence.

Clinical Scope

You'll scrub cases including CABG, valve replacement, VAD insertions, TAVR, VATS, lobectomy, pacemaker/AICD insertions, septal myectomy, Ross procedures, EVH, IABP insertions, femoral cannulation, and circulatory arrest procedures. All cases follow a 1 scrub + 1 circulator model; pump cases add a first assist/Heart Holder role.

Requirements

• Mandatory: CST and BLS certification
• Mandatory: Extensive CVOR scrub experience
• Mandatory: Minimum 2 completed travel assignments
• First Assist experience preferred but not required

Unit Details

• Supported by 1 Unit Secretary, 1 Charge Nurse, 1 PCA, and 1 Core Tech
• On-call shifts rotated among staff
• Occasional floating
• Hospital provides scrubs; surgical attire policy applies
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

This is an efficient, outcomes-focused program—not a training facility. Candidates must be ready to hit the ground running.
