Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract

Salem, VA | Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 13 Weeks | 36 Hours Guaranteed

This busy Emergency Department in Salem, VA is seeking an experienced travel RN for a night shift contract. The unit manages a high volume of acute and complex presentations, requiring nurses who are comfortable working at a fast pace in a team-driven environment.

Clinical Scope

Nurses on this unit regularly perform or assist with:

• Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
• Sepsis interventions
• Stroke protocol with tPA administration
• Central line placement
• Psychiatric patient care
• Interfacility transfers (EMTALA)

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Department RN experience
• Minimum 2–3 completed travel assignments required
• Prior experience in high-acuity, high-volume ERs strongly preferred
• Active RN license applicable to Virginia

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Preferred Certifications

• ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale

Schedule & Logistics

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period (Friday/Saturday for nights)
• No on-call requirement
• No floating required
• Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs
