Medical Surgical / Oncology RN — Night Shift | Charleston, WV

This inpatient Medical-Surgical/Oncology unit cares for adult patients navigating cancer treatment, surgical recovery, palliative care, and related education. The patient population also includes urology and telemetry patients. The care team places a strong emphasis on family education throughout the oncological process.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• 36- or 48-hour contract options available
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday RTO limited to no more than one of the three major holidays
• Float within scope to meet unit needs
• Blocked schedule requests considered

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• 36 hours guaranteed
• Scrub color: Royal Blue/White (RN)
• Free parking for travelers

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for submission)
• Permanent address 100+ miles from facility required; 75–99 miles considered case-by-case
• Certifications: BLS, ONCC/ONS — candidates without oncology experience will be considered

Clinical Skills

• Telemetry monitoring
• Central line draws and port access/care
• Blood and blood product administration
• PCA pump management
• Bone marrow aspiration assistance
• Pleurx chest tube management
• Chemotherapy administration (preferred, within the past year)

Vaccines

• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions with physician or allergist documentation accepted); required October 1 – March 31
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
