Progressive Care RN – Open Heart/Cardiothoracic Unit | Charleston, WV
Nights | 13-Week Contract
This progressive care unit specializes in post-operative open heart and cardiothoracic surgical patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, with overflow capacity for medical/surgical patients.
Shift & Schedule
- 4x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12 also available)
- Every other weekend required
- Float within scope to meet unit needs
- Holiday RTO limited to no more than one of the three major holidays
Contract Details
- 13-week contract | 36- or 48-hour options available
- 36 hours guaranteed
- Orientation held every other Thursday
Clinical Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Chest tube insertion assistance, management, and removal
- Central line experience required
- External and internal pacemaker management
- Wound VAC experience
- Critical drip management: amiodarone, cardizem, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, dopamine, argatroban
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Telemetry monitoring
Certifications & Licensure
- BLS and ACLS required (AHA-issued)
- Active WV RN license or compact license required (pending license accepted for submission)
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (75–99 miles considered case by case)
