Med-Surg Travel RN — Overland Park, KS

This inpatient Medical-Surgical unit provides acute care across a wide range of patient populations. The unit operates with day and night shift staffing that includes charge nurses, RNs/LPNs, PCTs, and a unit clerk.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 07:00–19:00 (days)
• Contract Duration: 12 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Weekends: 4 shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) per 4-week period

Clinical Scope

Nurses on this unit are expected to perform and manage:

• Peripheral IV insertion, management, and removal
• Central line management and removal
• Foley catheter insertion and management
• NG tube insertion and management
• Drain management and removal
• Wound care and ostomy management
• Continuous bladder irrigation
• Chest tube management
• EKG monitoring and basic dysrhythmia recognition

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Prior inpatient acute care experience
• Basic dysrhythmia knowledge
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a higher-acuity or trauma setting

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs; black pants acceptable
