Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract | Night Shift | Fullerton, CA
This 13-week night shift position (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12) is on an active Labor & Delivery unit caring for neonatal, adolescent, and adult patients across a broad range of obstetric diagnoses, including labor induction, preeclampsia, TOLAC/VBAC, multiples, preterm labor, and high-risk antepartum cases. Floating to Mother-Baby may be required.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12
- Weekend coverage required; frequency may exceed every other weekend based on unit need
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application
- Holiday commitment required (3 of 5: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, New Year's Day)
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, NRP
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring *(hard stop — must be current at submission)*
Clinical Requirements
- Minimum 1.5 years of L&D experience (2 years preferred)
- Must perform sterile vaginal exams independently, without supervision (hard stop)
- Obstetric competency required (hard stop)
- Skilled in: labor management, C-section scrub/circulate/recovery, fetal monitoring (internal and external), IUPC placement, Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, postpartum hemorrhage response, newborn assessment, and couplet care
Additional Details
- Contract duration: 13 weeks | Start: ASAP
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Scrub color: Royal Blue (L&D/OR scrubs provided)
