Pre-Op Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Pre-Op nurse to join the surgical services team. You'll prepare patients for surgery, conduct pre-operative assessments, manage patient flow through the pre-op area, and ensure all required documentation and safety protocols are completed before patients enter the operating room.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Hours: 40 hours/week (5 × 8-hour shifts)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
Requirements
- Current RN license (state-specific)
- Minimum 18 months of pre-op or perioperative nursing experience
- BLS certification required
What You'll Do
- Perform pre-operative patient interviews and vital sign documentation
- Verify surgical site marking, consent forms, and chart completeness
- Administer pre-operative medications per provider orders
- Communicate patient status and concerns to the surgical team
- Maintain a safe, efficient pre-op environment
- Support same-day surgery and inpatient surgical cases
About the Role
This is a direct patient-care position in a fast-paced surgical services department. You'll work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to ensure seamless patient transitions to surgery.
