Psychiatric Nurse – Night Shift

About the Role
Join the psychiatric team at the facility's inpatient mental health unit. You'll provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients experiencing acute psychiatric conditions, mood disorders, and behavioral health crises. The night shift offers a smaller census and close-knit team environment, ideal for building strong therapeutic relationships and honing your assessment and de-escalation skills.
What You'll Do
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and monitor patient mental status and medication responses
- Implement individualized care plans and therapeutic interventions
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers on discharge planning
- Respond to behavioral crises with calm, professional de-escalation
- Maintain a safe, structured environment for patients stabilizing on medications
Requirements
- Current RN license (state of employment)
- Psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- Strong communication and crisis management skills
- Ability to work independently during night hours
