Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract

This combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department serves a broad patient population spanning neonates through geriatrics. The unit operates at a high daily visit volume and requires nurses comfortable managing diverse acuity levels within a fast-paced environment.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Floating when census warrants
• Minimal requested time off preferred (no more than 10 days per contract)

Clinical Scope

• Management of dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
• CVA and stroke care, procedural sedation, IV vasopressors
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytic administration
• Blood product administration, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management
• Phlebotomy and IV placement (mandatory competency for all RNs)
• Psychiatric holds, suicidal patient care, drug overdose management
• 12-lead EKG acquisition, splint application, isolation precautions

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ED experience
• Active NY RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Electronic charting experience required
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Travel experience preferred; first-time travelers considered

• Orientation: 16 hours
• Pre-modules completed prior to start date (up to 5 billable hours)
