Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract

Rochester, NY | Days | 13-Week Assignment

This combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department is a high-volume, fast-paced environment seeking an experienced ER RN for a day-shift travel contract.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Float to other units when census warrants
• Block scheduling considered but not guaranteed

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start: November 2026
• New travelers welcome (minimum 1 year ER experience required)
• NY state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible

Required Certifications

BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

Clinical Scope

This ED treats all age groups — neonates through geriatrics — with a mixed-acuity patient population. Core competencies required include:

• Phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement (mandatory skills for all RNs)
• Management of dysrhythmias and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Blood product administration and IV vasopressors
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytic management
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• CVA management, drug overdose, and psychiatric/suicidal patient care
• BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, and isolation precautions

Interdisciplinary support includes pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, social services, radiology, and interpretation services.

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Navy and white combinations
• Electronic charting experience is required
• RTO requests should be minimal (no more than 10 days per contract)
