IMCU/Step Down RN – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
We're seeking an RN for our Intermediate Care Unit/Step Down with day shift availability. This role is ideal for nurses looking to build experience in a dynamic, high-acuity environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekends: 6 shifts per schedule period required
- Float: Yes, you may float between units as needed
- On-Call: No
Clinical Scope
You'll care for a mixed patient population (adolescents, adults, geriatrics) with an average daily census of 30. The unit manages cardiac and trauma patients, including:
- Post-cardiac catheterization and intervention care
- Cardiac drip management and titration
- Tracheostomy and ventilator care
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Post-cardiac surgery patients
- Sepsis, stroke, and other acute medical/surgical conditions
You'll also work with interventional procedures including TAVR, angiograms, and heart catheterizations.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (compact license accepted); at least 1 year of nursing experience
- ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency with cardiac telemetry, central/peripheral line management, ABG interpretation, and vasoactive drip management
Uniform
Solid navy blue scrubs or uniforms for licensed nursing staff.
