Med Surg Tele

Medical/Surgical Travel RN — Greenville, SC

13-Week Contract | Day Shift | 3x12-Hour (07:00–19:30)

This Medsurg/Ortho unit cares for adult and geriatric surgical patients across a broad range of specialties. Travelers should be comfortable with high-acuity postoperative care and prepared to support a diverse surgical census.

Clinical Scope & Procedures

• ENT Surgery: tracheostomies, laryngectomies
• Plastics: I&D, Wound VACs
• General Surgery: bowel obstructions, mastectomy, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, gunshot wounds, overdose, hernia repair
• Surgical Oncology: pancreatitis
• Colorectal: colectomy, colostomy

Equipment & Skills

Wound VAC, PCA, PICC line management, surgical drains, ostomy care, central line care, heparin protocols, chest tube management, feeding tube care, blood product administration, and non-invasive airway management.

Scheduling

• Days, 3x12 (07:00–19:30) | Weekend coverage required
• Float to qualified MS/Tele floors may be required based on census

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active South Carolina RN license
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of Medsurg experience required; first-time travelers considered based on experience
• 1 year of electronic medical records experience required
• MS/Tele experience strongly recommended given float expectations

Additional Details

• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
• Pre-assignment modules must be completed within 48 hours of system access (up to 16 hours reimbursable)
• Orientation held every Monday
• Travelers may not extend beyond three consecutive 13-week contracts without converting to staff
