ICU Travel Nurse — Night Shift | Napa, CA | 13-Week Contract

This Neuro/Surgical/Medical ICU role offers a dynamic, high-acuity environment caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients across a broad spectrum of critical diagnoses.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Self-scheduling
• Weekend coverage required
• Travelers must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• Float to nearby sister facilities may be required; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Clinical Scope

The unit manages complex, high-acuity patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, traumatic brain injury, subdural hematoma, ESRD, and COVID. You'll work with a robust interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and rapid response.

Procedures & Skills

• ICP monitoring, EVD management
• CRRT
• Post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care
• CVA/acute stroke management
• Hypothermia protocol
• Spinal cord injury management
• Care of ventilated patients
• Chest tube assistance
• IABP and Impella management
• CABG post-operative care

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience
• Active compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• 2 professional references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
• Facility does not accept background or license hits
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront

Orientation: 12 hours

Contract Duration: 13 weeks
