Emergency Department RN — Knoxville, TN

Day Shift | 13-Week Contract | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

This ED role is focused on boarding care within a busy emergency department setting. Nurses in this position provide care for admitted patients awaiting inpatient bed placement, either in a designated holding area or in hallway spaces as needed. When boarding census is low, clinicians may be redeployed to an acute care area on an as-needed basis.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend required; some holiday coverage expected

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care or Med/Surg Telemetry
• ACLS and BLS required
• Prior experience in ED or boarding environments preferred; first-time travelers considered based on experience

Licensure

• Active Tennessee RN license or compact license required at time of submission — no pending licenses accepted

Charting

• Prior experience with the facility's electronic charting system required for RN positions

• Float within clinical scope possible to meet unit needs
• Block scheduling available
• 2 professional references required (may be pending at submission)
• Onboarding modules are non-billable, averaging 2–4 hours, completed during orientation
