Medical-Surgical Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical nurse for a 13-week contract assignment on the night shift. You'll work 4×12-hour shifts (48 hours/week, with a 36-hour/week option available) in a pulmonary-focused med-surg unit.
Unit Details
Schedule & Expectations
- Nights only – no call requirement
- Every other or every 3rd weekend, depending on staffing and census
- Holiday rotation required: You must work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays (unless the unit is closed)
- Float assignment across multiple campuses
- Orientation dates: 10/26, 11/9, 11/23, or 12/7
Requirements
- 24 months current Medical-Surgical experience (required)
- Pulmonary patient care experience (required)
- Level III trauma experience (required); Level II or Level I preferred
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Current Driver's License
- Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, or manager within the past 24 months (preferred)
First-time travelers with 2+ years of Med-Surg experience will be considered.
