Neuro Progressive Care Unit – Day Shift
Position Details
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 3 days per week (12-hour shifts)
- Location: Atlanta, GA
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
About the Role
The facility's neuro progressive care unit is seeking an experienced RN to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment. You'll manage a mixed patient population including acute neurological cases and step-down patients transitioning from higher acuity settings.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in neurology nursing
- Current RN license (verified through Nursys)
- NIHSS certification (must be included in application materials)
- ACLS certification
- Proficiency with the facility's electronic health record system
- Strong medical/surgical nursing foundation
What You'll Do
- Assess and monitor neurologically complex patients
- Perform stroke assessments and neuro checks per protocol
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
- Provide direct nursing care to acute and step-down populations
- Float to adjacent units as needed
Schedule & Expectations
- Weekends are required; no block scheduling
- No 60-day gaps in employment history
- Professional references and current certification cards required with application
