IT Applications Systems Specialist — Healthcare IT | Grand Junction, CO

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt | Monday–Friday

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced healthcare IT professional to serve as a senior-level subject matter expert supporting clinical and administrative application systems within a hospital IT department.

Role Overview

You will serve as the primary product owner and support resource for the facility's electronic health records environment, partnering with clinical and operational teams to optimize workflows, maintain system integrity, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level product ownership and daily application support, including troubleshooting, incident management, and escalation to vendors as needed
• Coordinate system updates, patches, and upgrades with minimal disruption to operations
• Deliver EMR utilization training to providers and healthcare professionals
• Serve as the primary contact for application support requests received through the service desk
• Participate in design, development, testing, and ongoing maintenance of clinical and administrative applications
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of clinical data within application systems
• Act as liaison between IT and operational staff, translating technical concepts for clinical and business audiences
• Maintain the clinical application portfolio and contribute to lifecycle management planning

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with acute and/or ambulatory electronic health records systems
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare IT environments
• Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
• Ability to train and support clinical end-users, including physicians
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Information Systems, IT, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience
