Ortho/Trauma RN — Kansas City, Missouri

This 13-week contract places you on a busy Ortho/Trauma unit in Kansas City, MO, caring for post-operative orthopedic and trauma patients. The unit manages post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, trauma admissions, and some neurological overflow.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week, with 3 weekend shifts required per schedule period
• 36 hours guaranteed per week

Clinical Details

• Patient population: post-surgical orthopedic, trauma, and neuro overflow
• Equipment includes traction, external fixators, and cooling devices
• Support staff includes unit secretaries and PCTs
• Patient experience standards: bedside shift report and hourly rounding

Float Requirements

• Contract staff are first to float
• Float pool includes General Med/Surg, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma units

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Orthopedic nursing experience
• Telemetry experience
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) familiarity preferred

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs
