Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Thornton, CO
13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
This PCU opportunity is based in Thornton, Colorado and offers a dynamic, high-acuity environment with a broad and varied patient population. The unit is newly renovated and features ADA/bariatric rooms with in-room Hoyer lifts, reflecting a strong commitment to both patient and staff safety.
Unit & Patient Population
The unit manages a wide range of progressive care patients, including:
- Post-operative recovery for surgical, orthopedic (spine, joint), and gynecological patients
- Post-cath lab patients following PCI, pacemaker placement, ablation, cardioversion, and re-vascularization
- Stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure patients
- Cardiac drip management (set-rate; heparin titration required)
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Modified self-scheduling with schedules posted three weeks in advance
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of current hospital PCU experience
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Cardiac care experience
- Prior PCU or step-down background
