Operating Room RN — Cardiac, Vascular & Transplant | Greenville, SC

This OR position is ideal for a highly experienced surgical nurse with a strong background in cardiac, vascular, and transplant procedures. The unit manages a complex, high-acuity surgical caseload and requires a traveler who can adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Shift & Schedule

• At least one on-call shift and overtime per week
• 1–2 call weekends per 6-week schedule
• Schedule flexibility required; OT and weekend needs may vary

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Orientation: 30 hours; begins on Mondays
• Pre-assignment modules required within 48 hours of system access (up to 16 hours reimbursable)

Clinical Scope

The unit performs a broad range of complex surgical procedures, including:

• Cardiac: CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, IABP management
• Vascular: Carotid endarterectomy/stenting, aortic aneurysm repair (open and endovascular), TEVAR, femoral-popliteal bypass
• Transplant: Kidney, liver, pancreas, organ donation
• Thoracic: VATS, thoracotomy, lobe/lung resection, mediastinoscopy
• Trauma: Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA with multiple injuries

Requirements

• Active South Carolina RN license
• BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent OR experience in cardiac, vascular, and transplant
• Prior high-acuity surgical trauma experience required
• Experienced travelers only; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Floating to qualified units may be required based on census needs
