Labor & Delivery (LDRP / Antepartum / Mother-Baby) — Travel RN

Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Defiance, OH | 13-Week Contract

This night-shift opportunity supports a full-scope obstetric unit covering antepartum, LDRP, Level 1 Nursery, low-risk, and mother-baby care. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.

Clinical Scope

Nurses will manage a wide-ranging obstetric and neonatal patient population — neonates, infants, and adults — across the full continuum of perinatal care, including:

• Antepartum , NST, sterile speculum/vaginal exams, and EFM (external and internal)
• High-acuity diagnoses: pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, uterine rupture, preterm labor, PROM, multiple gestation, and malpresentations
• Labor support: Pitocin, Mag Sulfate, prostaglandins, terbutaline, amnioinfusion, forceps/vacuum assistance, and VBAC management
• C-section recovery and postpartum hemorrhage management
• Neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, newborn hypoglycemia, phototherapy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Full postpartum couplet care including breastfeeding/lactation support
• Pain management including epidural, opioids, nitrous oxide, and PCA

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of L&D/OB experience
• Active Michigan RN license in hand (Ohio pending acceptable)
• Certifications: BLS and NRP required; AWHONN certification and FHM preferred
• Electronic charting experience required
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible

Scheduling Notes

• 24-hour orientation
• Floating within scope of practice expected
• Schedule may be adjusted with two weeks' notice
• Scrubs provided by the facility
