Labor & Delivery Travel Nurse — Night Shift | Defiance, OH | 13-Week Contract

This opportunity is in a Labor & Delivery/LDRP setting caring for a diverse patient population including neonates, infants, and adults. The unit operates at a manageable daily census with broad clinical scope across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• 13-week contract | Start: November 9, 2026
• 24-hour orientation

Clinical Scope

• Antepartum , sterile speculum and vaginal exams, non-stress testing, external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement
• Labor management including high-risk deliveries, C-section recovery, forceps/vacuum assistance, amnioinfusion, VBAC
• Complex patient populations: pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, preterm labor, malpresentations, multiple gestation, uterine rupture
• Medication administration: Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, antiseizure agents, prostaglandins, terbutaline, anticoagulation
• Pain management: epidural, general anesthesia, nitrous oxide, opioids, PCA
• Neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, radiant warmers, phototherapy, neonatal abstinence syndrome management
• Postpartum couplet care, breastfeeding/lactation support, hemorrhage management

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience
• Certifications: BLS, NRP required; AWHONN (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced) and FHM preferred
• Electronic charting experience required
• Floating within scope of practice expected
• Locals within 50 miles not accepted

COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered).
