Cardiovascular OR Tech / Surgical Tech — Travel Contract

Rochester, NY | Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This CVOR-focused role supports a high-volume surgical suite performing both elective and emergency procedures for adult and pediatric patients. When census allows, you may float to support general OR cases.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 3×12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00)
• On-call: 1 call shift per week and 1 full weekend per month

Clinical Scope

The role encompasses a broad range of cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, including:

• CABG, TAVR, mitral valve replacement, atrial septal defect repair, ventricular assist device (VAD) support
• Endovascular aortic repair (EVAR), carotid endarterectomy, aortobifemoral bypass, femoral-popliteal bypass
• Cardiothoracic robotic surgery, VATS, lung resection/thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy
• Hybrid OR cases, laparoscopic cardiac surgery, angioplasty/stenting, atherectomy
• General OR cases including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and trauma

Required Certifications & Credentials

• BLS
• NBSTSA or NCCT (both preferred; at least one required)
• Valid New York state license — must be in hand at time of submission

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years in a busy CVOR
• First-time travelers considered with 2–3 years of relevant CVOR experience
• Electronic health record experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Additional Details

• Float to general OR procedures when CVOR volume is low
• Pre-contract modules required (completed prior to start date)
• No more than 10 days of pre-approved time off per contract
• Background reviewed on a case-by-case basis
