Medical-Surgical RN | San Luis Obispo, CA | 13-Week Contract

This medical/surgical unit provides care to a diverse patient population spanning adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups, with attention to both clinical and psychosocial needs. The role involves managing stable and emergent patient situations across a broad range of acuity levels.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week (3x12s)
• Start date: November 9, 2026

Clinical Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized, multidisciplinary care plans
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including blood products
• Perform epidural management, acute post-op wound care, and sterile technique
• Assess vascular patency and manage indwelling catheters and drains
• Safely operate unit-standard medical equipment (IV pumps, PCA machines, glucose meters)
• Educate patients and families with methods appropriate to age, culture, and learning readiness
• Supervise and delegate to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice

Requirements

• Active RN license in California (or compact equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical experience
• BLS certification (from an approved vendor)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
