Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Position Overview
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-volume setting, managing patients across a wide spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekends per unit need
- 13-week contract
- Start date: November 15, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Provide rapid, comprehensive nursing care to emergent and urgent patients
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and protocols
- Monitor and manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams on plan of care
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
- Support patient flow and throughput in a high-volume environment
- Follow infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certification
- ADN or BSN
- Experience with protocols and high-acuity environments
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
