Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
Location: Paducah, KY
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Includes holidays and weekends
About the Role
The facility is seeking an RN to join its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You will monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, respond to patient condition changes, administer medications and cardiac drips, and manage pre- and post-operative care including wound care and pain management.
Your responsibilities include coordinating care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses), collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans and discharge planning, and educating patients and families on treatments and discharge instructions. You will accurately document all assessments and interventions, maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols, and manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
- ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1+ years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to assess and implement age-specific patient safety measures
