Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Travel Nurse

Dallas, TX | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This PCU opportunity places you in a step-down environment caring for intermediate-acuity patients requiring close monitoring and skilled nursing intervention.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (facility can approve up to 48 guaranteed hours)
• 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period

Clinical Scope

You'll provide care for a step-down patient population in a PCU setting, managing patients who require cardiac monitoring and a higher level of observation than a standard medical-surgical floor. Float coverage to med-surg and PCU units may be required.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1–2 years of PCU experience required — candidates without PCU background will not be considered
• Active ACLS certification required

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 14, 2026
• Shift: Nights, 19:00–07:00
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
• Call-in policy: Must call in before 5:00 AM/5:00 PM per unit guidelines

This is a strong fit for an experienced PCU nurse who is comfortable in a step-down environment, confident with cardiac monitoring, and adaptable to float assignments within a similar acuity range.
