Labor and Delivery RN

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Location: McAllen, TX

Contract Duration: 12 weeks

Schedule: Rotating weekends

About the Role

Join the facility's Labor and Delivery team in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. You'll care for laboring patients, antepartum clients, and post-delivery families across a full spectrum of obstetric care.

Clinical Scope

This unit manages vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and a range of OB procedures including bilateral tubal ligations, D&C, and uterine tamponade device placement. You'll monitor fetal heart tones, manage magnesium and Pitocin drips with titration, and provide compassionate support during labor and delivery.

Staffing & Ratios

• Day shift: 1 charge nurse, 3–4 RNs, 1–2 CSTs

• You may float to antepartum or postpartum (OB assignment only)

Required Qualifications

• BLS, NRP, and Intermittent EFM certification
• Strong labor management skills
• Ability to circulate in L&D OR (preferred)
• Positive, compassionate, and flexible mindset

• Scrubs: Royal blue
• Rotating weekends
