Labor and Delivery – RN
Location: McAllen, TX
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 12 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
About the Role
Join the facility's Labor and Delivery unit as a night-shift RN. You'll provide direct care to laboring patients, antepartum clients, and postpartum mothers in a supportive, fast-paced environment. The unit handles the full spectrum of obstetric care, from vaginal and cesarean deliveries to specialized procedures including tubal ligations, D&Cs, and management of high-risk conditions.
Clinical Scope
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Administer and titrate magnesium and Pitocin drips
- Manage fetal monitoring and labor progression
- Support patients requiring uterine tamponade devices or other interventions
Requirements
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- Competency in intermittent fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Strong labor management skills
- Ability to function as circulator in the L&D OR (preferred)
Schedule & Flexibility
- Night shift (7 PM – 7 AM)
- Rotating weekends
- Potential to float to antepartum or postpartum units (OB assignments only)
