ICU/CCU Nurse – Night Shift

Contract Details

• Duration: 15 weeks
• Start Date: December 14, 2026
• Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (19:00–07:30)
• Location: Downey, CA

Position Overview

The facility's ICU/CCU manages high-acuity patients including post-cardiac-surgery, sepsis, multi-system organ failure, and acute stroke cases. You'll provide direct bedside care in a fast-paced environment with exposure to advanced hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, continuous infusions, and emergency interventions.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years ICU/CCU experience
• Valid California RN license
• Current ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, and MAB or VIP certification
• CCRN preferred
• Advanced EKG competency exam required (must score 80% or higher; two attempts allowed before start, one attempt onsite)

Key Responsibilities

• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation (FloTrac/Vigileo, dysrhythmia management)
• Central line, arterial line, and PICC line management
• Mechanical ventilation and high-flow oxygen delivery
• Continuous sedation and neuromuscular blockade management
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• Acute stroke and CVA protocols
• Emergency procedural sedation
• Chest tube and hypothermia protocol assistance

Schedule

• Every other weekend required
• Must be willing to work holidays
• Possible float to intermediate or telemetry units
• Time-off requests due at submittal; maximum 3 days throughout contract; no RTO first two weeks
