Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) — Travel RN

Utica, NY | Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

This IMCU position supports a busy intermediate care unit managing adult patients (18+) across a wide range of complex diagnoses, including neurological conditions, cardiac events, trauma, respiratory illness (COPD), DKA, sepsis, MI, and cardiovascular stepdown/post-operative cases.

Shift Details

• Nights: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• 12-hour shifts, 36–48 hours per week
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Floating required
• Start date: December 7, 2025

Clinical Scope

The unit manages intermediate- to higher-acuity adult patients, including those requiring:

• Temporary pacing, chest tubes, and arterial lines
• BiPAP and chronic ventilator management (weaning not expected; respiratory therapy assists)
• Neurological monitoring and dedicated neuro patient care

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience; travel RN experience preferred
• Active New York RN license (NURSYS verification required)
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Specialty-matched skills checklist
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of application
